Muktijodha Scholarship Scheme

India will give Rs. 35 crore rupees to children of freedom fighters in Bangladesh in the next five years.

About Muktijodha Scholarship Scheme:

Muktijodha Scholarship Scheme was started in 2006.

It aims to support the descendants of the 1971 Freedom Fighters.

More than 10,000 scholarships worth Taka150 million have been granted to the descendants under the scheme.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that India will provide scholarships to another 10,000 students under the new ‘Muktijodha scholarship’.

Own Microsoft Designed font

Dubai has become the first city in the world to have its own Microsoft designed font.

The font will have typeface both in Latin and Arabic script.

It will be made available in 23 languages– Afrikaans, Arabic, Basque, Britannic, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Gaelic, German, Icelandic, Indonesian, Italian, Norwegian, Farsi, Portuguese, Sami, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish and Urdu.

Bhitarkanika National Park authorities have imposed restrictions on entry of tourists into the park for three months to provide undisturbed environment for breeding by estuarine crocodiles.

Bhitarkanika is one of the largest sanctuaries of crocodiles in the region with 1,671 reptiles.

A commemorative stamp has been released on the 1,000th birth anniversary of Saint Ramanujacharya.

Key facts:

Ramanuja was a Hindu theologian, philosopher, and one of the most important exponents of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism.

He is famous as the chief proponent of Vishishtadvaita subschool of Vedanta.

He wrote influential texts, such as bhasya on the Brahma Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, all in Sanskrit.
