Swachh Swasth Sarvatra

Union Health Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Human Resource Development has launched Swachh Swasth Sarvatra.

Key facts:

This step is going to strengthening health centres in open defecation-free blocks and make them to achieve higher levels of cleanliness and hygiene.

Under this scheme, financial assistance will be given to the health centres so that they can be strengthened to achieve the standards of sanitation, hygiene and infection control.

This is a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, under the National Health Mission. It is mainly focused on the objectives of constructing toilets and enabling behavioural change, with the goal of making India free of open defecation.

China has world’s longest Bullet train network

The high speed railway linking Zhengzhou in China’s central Henan Province with Xuzhou in eastern Jiangsu Province.

The train has travel at a speed of 300 kmph and it reached Shanghai from the Xi’an within six hours. But it takes 11 hours to reach shanghai in the past.

China’s railway lines have above the 20,000 km in total length, which is makes this is as the world’s longest railway line network.
