This year Mother’s Day date is May 14.
Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.
It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May.
Theme of Mother’s Day is : “Every Mother Knows”.

Asian Wrestling Championship 2017
Asian Wrestling Championship 2017 is started in KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium, New Delhi from 10th May to 14th May.
Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Korea, China, India, Mongolia – These countries are participated in this Asian Wrestling Championship,
India finished the Game by ranked 5th position with 1 Gold Medal, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze medals.

Gold Medal:
Bajrang Punia won the Gold Medal in the 65 kg Men’s freestyle Category.
Silver Medals:
Sumit won the Silver Medal in the 125 kg Men’s freestyle Category.
Sakshi Malik won the Silver Medal in the 60 kg Women’s freestyle Category.
Vinesh Phogat won the Silver Medal in the 55 kg Women’s freestyle Category.
Sarita won the Silver Medal in the 58 kg Women’s freestyle Category.
Divya Kakran won the Silver Medal in the 69 kg Women’s freestyle Category.
Bronze Medals:
Harpreet Singh won the Bronze Medal in the 80 kg Men’s Greco-Roman Category.
Anil Kumar won the Bronze Medal in the 85 kg Men’s Greco-Roman Category.
Ritu Phogat won the Bronze Medal in the 48 kg Women’s freestyle Category.
Jyoti won the Bronze Medal in the 75 kg Women’s freestyle Category.

Public affairs index
Public affairs index (PAI) for the year 2017 has been released.
The PAI aims to rank the states of India objectively in the field of governance based on various focus subjects and indicators and is an initiative of the Public Affairs Committee (PAC).
The report was based on a wide range of themes such as essential infrastructure, support to human development, social protection, women and children, crime, law and order, delivery of justice, environment, transparency and accountability, fiscal management and economic freedom.
Performance of Tamil Nadu:
Best Governanace:
Kerala and Tamil Nadu have maintained their positions as the states with the best governance in the country.
Essential infrastructure:
Punjab is the best performer among all States in the category of essential infrastructure.
Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat secured second, third and fourth positions, respectively.
Maintaining law and order:
Tamil Nadu secured first rank in maintaining law and order, delivery of justice and environment categories and secured last rank in transparency and accountability in the administration.

Arjun Maini became first Indian driver to win a GP3 race
Jenzer Motorsports’ Indian driver Arjun Maini, created history as he became the first Indian to win a race in the GP3 Series with a dominant victory.
This is Arjun’s first victory in the GP3 Series and this win moves him into third place in the driver’s championship standings.
Nirei Fukuzumi of Japan leads the championship standings with 29 points
And Alessio Lorandi of Italy with 25 points.

World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2017 – Beijing
India received gold and a bronze at the China World Para Athletics Grand Prix being held in Beijing.
Ramudri Someshwara Rao won a gold medal in the 200m race.
And Hokato Sema won the bronze in shot put.
