National Events:

Wheat Export:

India exported 1.8 million tonnes of wheat to various countries , since the country banned exports of the grain on May 13 . About 33,000 tonnes of wheat as humanitarian assistance has already been supplied to Afghanistan .
Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey told this while addressing a ministerial conference on ‘ uniting for global food security ‘ held at Berlin , Germany on 24 June 2022 .

Zomato & Grofers India:

Zomato Ltd. has announced . the acquisition of Blink Commerce ( Blinkit ) , earlier known as Grofers India . The company’s Board of Directors approved a proposal to acquire cash – strapped quick commerce company Blinkit for 4,447 crores .
Last year , Zomato extended $ 50 million loans to Grofers India Private Limited . After the acquisition , Zomato’s shares fell nearly 6 % .

Avinash Kulkarni:

The chief executive of India Resurgence Asset Reconstruction Company , Avinash Kulkarni , has been selected to head the India Debt Resolution Company .
He will be the sole agent to resolve more than 83,000 crore of bad loans to be acquired by the government backed National Asset Reconstruction Company . Kulkarni has previously worked in the State Bank of India .

‘ One – Health approach ‘:

Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying ( DAHD ) , Ministry of Fisheries , Animal husbandry and Dairying launched the ‘ One – Health approach ‘.
It will bring stakeholders from animal , human and environment health on a common platform to address the challenges .
DAHD in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Confederation of Indian Industry will implement the Framework .

GE steam Power & BHEL:

GE Steam Power has signed a $ 165 million contract with BHEL ( Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited ) for the supply of three nuclear steam turbines . GE will manufacture these nuclear steam turbines at its facility in Sanand , Gujarat .
In 2018 , GE and BHEL had signed an agreement to manufacture nuclear steam turbines of 700 MW . BHEL Chairman – Nalin Shinghal. BHEL Headquarters – New Delhi.

DoPPW & SBI:

The Centre’s Department of Pension & Pensioners ‘ Welfare ( DoPPW ) will collaborate with the State Bank of India ( SBI ) to create an integrated pension portal .
It was decided at the sessions on pension policy reforms which were organised during the 2 – day bankers ‘ awareness programme in Udaipur , Rajasthan in June 2022 . The aim of this collaboration is to enhance the ease of living of pensioners .

‘ Utricularia Furcellata ‘:

A rare carnivorous plant named ‘ Utricularia Furcellata ‘ has been discovered in the Mandal valley of Chamoli strict by the research wing of the Uttarakhand Forest Department .
This is the first sighting of the plant in Uttarakhand as well as the entire western Himalayan region .The discovery has been documented in the prestigious Journal of Japanese Botany.

National Health Authority:

The National Health Authority ( NHA ) will host its first – ever open – to – all hackathon series from 14th to 17th July 2022 . The hackathon will be focused on the Unified Health Interface ( UHI ) and aim at mobilising the health start – up ecosystem in India .
National Health Authority is the successor of the National Health Agency . It has been set up to implement ” Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana “.

Dhan Sanchay:

The Life Insurance Corporation of India ( LIC ) has launched a new plan called Dhan Sanchay , which is a non – linked , non – participating , individual savings life insurance plan .
It will provide financial support to the family in case of the unfortunate death of the investor during the policy term . It will also provide guaranteed income during the payout period from the date of policy maturity .

Syngenta India:

Syngenta India has entered into an exclusive agreement with the Agriculture Insurance Company of India ( AIC ) .
This agreement will facilitate guaranteeing a fair price to the chilli growers of Guntur , Andhra Pradesh by indemnifying them for losses incurred due to a fall in market prices .
This is the first initiative in the market to insure the crop against the fluctuation of prices.

International Events:

World MSME Day : 27 June:

The World MSME Day is observed annually on June 27 .The UN General Assembly in April 2017 designated June 27 as World MSME Day .
The day serves as a reminder that small enterprises provide sustainable development goals , encourage innovation and provide a livelihood to millions .
This year the theme of World MSME Day is ‘ Resilience and Rebuilding : MSMEs for Sustainable Development ‘.

Transilvania International Film Festival:

The 21st edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival was held on 25 June 2022 at Unirii Square in Cluj – Napoca . Utama , the debut film of director Alejandro Loayza Grisi , was the winner and awarded the € 10,000 Transylvania Trophy .
Filmmaker Guomundur Arnar Guðmundsson won the Best Director Award . Laura Müller and Schemci Lauth , were awarded the Best Performance Award .

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking : 26 June:

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking , also known as World Drug Day is observed on June 26 annually .
It is observed to spread awareness about the physical and psychological impact of substance abuse and drug related problems across the globe .
The theme for 2022 is ” Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crisis ” . The day was first observed in 1989 .

Sports Events:

USA Track and Field Outdoor Championship:

Sydney McLaughlin broke the world record in the 400m hurdles for the third time at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships . World record holder Keni Harrison won the women’s 100m hurdles in 12:34 seconds .

Ranji Trophy:

Madhya Pradesh beat Mumbai by 6 wickets in the final of the Ranji Trophy to become the champions for the first time in the tournament’s 87 – year history.
