National Events:

Ahom commander Lachit Barphukan:

The 3-day long celebrations of 400th birth anniversary of Ahom commander Lachit Barphukan began on 23 Nov 2022 in New Delhi.
Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated exhibition on this occasion highlighting the life and achievement of Ahom dynasty and Lachit Barphukan among others.
Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the documentary on Lachit Barphukan on 24 November.

NIEPA:

National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, NIEPA, celebrated the Diamond Jubilee anniversary of its establishment in New Delhi on 22 November 2022.
It is one of the first institutions established in the world in the area of education and planning. The Institute was set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Report by Deloitte India:

A report by Deloitte India on 20 November 2022 said that India is likely to post a 6.5 % to 7.1 % economic growth in FY2022-23.
Deloitte expects global prices to ease by mid – 2023 owing to a possible moderation in crude oil and industrial raw material prices, thereby easing pressures on domestic inflation. India’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.7 percent in the 2021-22 fiscal year.

Ravi Kumar Sagar:

Ravi Kumar Sagar, one of the youngest founders and CEO of RK’S INNO group was conferred with Dr. Abdul Kalam Seva Puraskar on 22 November 2022.
He was awarded for his persistent service to society and is one of the youngest entrepreneurs in India.
This award is hosted every year by Vandhe Bharat Foundation to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Adul Kalam.

Vostro accounts:

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed HDFC Bank Ltd and Canara Bank Ltd to open a special “vostro account” for trade in rupees with Russia. Vostro accounts are accounts a bank holds on behalf of another, often foreign bank, and this forms a key part of correspondent banking.
Till now UCO Bank, Union Bank and IndusInd Bank have received regulatory clearance for rupee trade.

Urban Gabru:

Men’s grooming brand Urban Gabru announced cricketer Suryakumar Yadav as its new brand ambassador on 22 November 2022.
Suryakumar joins the brand to endorse UrbanGabru’s grooming range. Suryakumar Yadav is currently ranked first in men’s T20 International batting.

Economic Times Inspiring Leaders Award – 2022:

Museum maker AP. Shreethar was honored with Economic Times Inspiring Leaders Award – 2022 in Delhi. AP.
Shreethar is a self – taught artist and museum maker. He is known to have conducted over 72 shows and exhibitions around the globe.
Shreethar is additionally credited as the creator of the world’s first Live Art Museum.

Matrix Business Services India Pvt Ltd:

Matrix Business Services India Pvt Ltd. was awarded “Partner of the Year 2022” by Procter & Gamble (P & G) in Cincinnati, USA, for their contribution in transforming their business processes.
It was among the 11 external business partners (EBPs) chosen from a global network of over 50,000 for the year 2021 – 22. Matrix is headquartered in Chennai and has a presence all over the country.

IPRD:

The fourth edition of the Indo – Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD) began in Delhi on 23 November 2022. IPRD is an apex level international annual conference of the Indian Navy.
The National Maritime Foundation is Navy’s knowledge partner and chief organizer of each edition of the event. The theme of IPRD – 2022 is the ‘ Operationalising the Indo – Pacific Oceans Initiative ‘.

Installed capacity of grid-interactive renewable power:

Karnataka came at the top position while comparing the total installed capacity of grid-interactive renewable power of all the states of the country. The state had a total installed capacity of 15,463 megawatts (mw).
Tamil Nadu, with 15,225 mw, came at the second; Gujarat, with 13,153 mw, was at third position, according to Handbook of Statistics on Indian States 2021-22, released by RBI.

Platinum Jubilee of Poonch Link – Up Day:

Platinum Jubilee of Poonch Link – Up Day was celebrated by people of Poonch and Indian Army in district Poonch on 22 November 2022.
The day marks the Operation Easy conducted by Indian Army in 1948 to defend the border district from the invading Pakistani raiders. Tributes were paid at Namansthal War Memorial.

International Events:

Prodapt:

Prodapt, a leading global consulting, technology & managed services provider, has been named a recipient of the Salesforce Partner Innovation Award 2022 in the “Communications” category.
The award recognizes the significant contributions Salesforce partners have made across industries. Prodapt is a global provider of advisory services for IT, and telecommunications.

India-EU:

The 9th India – EU Foreign Policy and Security Consultations were held in New Delhi on 22 November 2022.
The two sides reviewed the working of various institutional mechanisms between India and the European Union, including Cyber Security, Counter Terrorism, and Maritime Security. EU Founded: 1 November 1993.

Climate Change Performance Index- 2023:

India is amongst the top 5 – best – performing countries on Climate Change. The latest report of Climate Change Performance Index- 2023, shows Denmark, Sweden, Chile and Morocco as the only four countries that were ranked above India.
India has jumped two spots higher and now ranks 8th as per Climate Change Performance Index. The first, second and third ranks were not awarded to any country.

UNICEF & NFDC:

UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) have joined hands to promote films with a child rights perspective at the 53rd IFFI(International Film Festival of India) in Goa.
A special section for films that highlight children’s and adolescents ‘ issues and rights have been created at IFFI for the first time. Six films curated jointly by NFDC and UNICEF are being screened during the 9 – day festival.

FTA:

The free trade agreement (FTA) between India and Australia has been approved by the Australian parliament. The India – Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement would now become operational on a mutually agreed date.
It will provide duty – free access to the Australian market for over 6000 broad sectors of India. These include textiles, leather, furniture, jewellery and machinery.

Pranay Sharma:

Indian Karate Star Pranay Sharma on 20 November 2022 became the first Indian to win Gold Medal at Karate 1 Series A in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Sharma defeated Ukraine’s Davyd Yanovskyi in the Men’s 67 kg Kumite Final to bag the historic gold medal in the competition. The Karate 1 – Series A comprises a number of first – class international tournaments all over the world.

Manika Batra:

Indian table tennis player Manika Batra clinched the bronze medal at the IITF – ATTU Asian Cup tournament on 19 November 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand. She has become the first Indian female to win a medal at the Asian Cup table tennis tournament.
She defeated the World number six and three – time Asian champion Hina Hayata in a match by 4-2 to bag the bronze medal.
