National Events:

National Gopal Ratna:

  • Union Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Dairying Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan conferred the National Gopal Ratna Award to the farmers, Cooperatives, and technicians involved in Artificial Insemination for their exemplary contribution towards milk production in India.

 

Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar:

  • Thirty-nine schools from across the country were awarded the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar for the 2021-2022 academic session by the Ministry of Education.
  • The schools were selected from among a total of 8.23 lakh entries. Out of which 28 were government and aided schools and 11 were private schools.
  • The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar honors the school that has taken exemplary work in the field of water, sanitation, and hygiene.

 

Deloitte India:

  • Senior consultant Romal Shetty has been nominated CEO-designate of Deloitte India after a months-long selection process, according to an email sent to the firm’s partners late.
  • The next step is for its Indian equity partners to confirm his candidacy.

 

14th edition of Aero India:

  • The 14th edition of Aero India will be held from February 13-17, 2023 at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka (Bengalore), announced the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
  • The previous edition of the biennial event was held in a hybrid model in 2021 due to Covid as there were several restrictions in place.

 

Trains with new technology:

  • The trains will be introduced in 2025 with a new technology to prevent the train from slowing down due to the centrifugal force of the curve during the journey.
  • It is planned to manufacture 400 Vande Bharat trains by 2025. 100 of these trains will feature this new technology. An agreement has been made for that.

 

Ikshak:

  • Ikshak, the third of the four Survey Vessels (Large) (SVL) projects being built by GRSE/L&T for the Indian Navy, was launched on 26 November 22 at Kattupally, Chennai.
  • Instead, a new generation of hydrographic instruments will collect oceanographic data. Survey vessel (large) ships are 110 m long, 16 m wide and 3400 tons deep displacement and are designed to carry a crew of 231.

 

ISRO:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the successful launch of India-Bhutan satellite.
  • ISRO successfully launched 9 satellites including India’s Earth observation satellite, India-Bhutan joint product INS-2B, Durua.

 

Tamil Nadu Events:

’Track KD’:

  • The police department has introduced the ‘Track KD’ app to monitor the raiders, through which the activities of the criminals can be easily tracked.
  • In this app, the details of more than 30 thousand criminals in 39 districts and 9 commissionerates have been digitized.

 

Porunai Literature Festival:

  • Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated the 2-day Porunai Literature Festival in Nellai on 26th and 27th.
  • To celebrate the rich literary traditions of Tamil, the Government of Tamil Nadu is organizing five literary festivals in Nellai namely Porunai, Vaigai, Kaveri, Siruvani and Chennai.
  • The first event is being held on the banks of Borunai river.
