National Events:

Make II projects:

  • Indian Army has now approved Project Sanction Orders (PSOs) of five Make II projects.
  • Make II projects are essentially Industry funded projects involving design, development and innovative solutions by Indian vendors for development of prototypes.
  • An assurance of order is given after successful prototype development.

 

Union Government Committee:

  • Union Government has constituted a committee for strengthening the assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational Institutions.
  • The committee will also prepare a roadmap for the National Accreditation Council envisioned in the National Education Policy, 2020.
  • It will be headed by Dr K. Radhakrishnan, Chairperson , Board of Governors , IIT Kanpur . Union Education Minister: Dharmendra Pradhan.

 

FCCI:

  • The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on 2nd Nov 2022 named Subhrakant Panda as its next president.
  • Panda, the managing director of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA), is currently serving as the senior vice president of FICCI.
  • Panda will succeed Sanjiv Mehta as president of FICCI at the conclusion of its 95th AGM to be held in December 2022. FICCI Founded: 1927.

 

Shyam Saran Negi:

  • India’s first voter Shyam Saran Negi died on November 5 , 2022 at his residence in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur. He was 106.
  • Believed to the first voter in the 1952 General Election, Negi was born on July 1, 1917 and retired as a schoolteacher, as per official records. Election Commissioner of India: Rajiv Kumar.

 

UNFCCC-(COP27):

  • Union Minister Bhupender Yadav will lead the Indian delegation to attend the 27th Session of Conference of Parties of the UNFCCC-United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
  • The conference is scheduled to be held at Sharm El – Sheikh , Egypt from 6th to 18th November 2022.
  • At COP27 , countries come together to take action toward achieving the world’s collective climate goals as agreed under the Paris agreement and the convention.

 

Tibet – Xinjiang highway:

  • Beijing on November 4 , 2022 said it had named 11 bridges along its key Tibet – Xinjiang highway , parts of which run through Aksai Chin , after four Chinese soldiers killed in the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
  • Aksai Chin is a disputed territory controlled by China, which India says is part of Ladakh.

 

Dhara Mustard Hybrid – 11 (DMH – 11):

  • The Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC), India’s apex regulator of genetically modified plants and food products, has approved the environmental release of Dhara Mustard Hybrid – 11 (DMH – 11).
  • ICAR suggest that DMH – 11 has 28 % higher yields than its parent Varuna and was 37 % better than zonal checks, or local varieties that are considered the best in different agro – climatic zones.

 

Aruna Sairam:

  • Carnatic vocalist, composer, collaborator, humanitarian and speaker, Aruna Sairam has been honoured with the French government’s highest honour, Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des award.
  • Aruna Sairam is awarded with Padma Shri by the Central Government and the Sangita Kalanidhi by the Music Academy. She was also elected as the Vice – Chairperson of the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

 

‘ CM Dashboard ‘:

  • Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched the ‘ CM Dashboard ‘ portal that will have real – time data of all departments and decisions taken on major schemes.
  • The ‘ CM Dashboard ‘ portal will provide live monitoring of every department at the block, district and panchayat levels.
  • The portal will have information about the decisions taken by the administrative wing on major schemes.

 

IAF & RSAF:

  • On 3rd November 2022, the 11th edition of the annual Joint Military Training ( JMT ) between the Indian Air Force ( IAF ) & the Royal Singapore Air Force ( RSAF ) commenced at Kalaikunda, West Bengal.
  • The two Air Forces have resumed this training after a gap of two years.
  • This edition of JMT would be conducted over a period of six weeks. Chief of the Air Staff: Vivek Ram Chaudhari.

 

Aadhaar Mitra:

  • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on 4th November 2022 launched the new Al / ML based chatbot, ‘ Aadhaar Mitra ‘ for better resident experience.
  • It has enhanced features like check Aadhaar enrollment / update status & information on enrollment centre location.
  • Also, UIDAI has been again placed at the top amongst all government departments for resolving public grievances for October 2022.

 

Fatima Sheikh:

  • Andhra Pradesh government has introduced a lesson on Fatima Sheikh, a India’s first woman Muslim teacher.
  • Fatima Sheikh is credited with allowing the Phule couple to start the first all-girls school at the former’s house in erstwhile Poona in Bombay Presidency.
  • Fatima Sheikh taught at all the five schools which were run by Phules. Also , she founded two schools in 1851 in Mumbai.

 

Meditation sessions every day for 10 minutes:

  • The Karnataka government on 3rd November 2022 instructed all primary and secondary school managements in the state to conduct meditation sessions every day for 10 minutes.
  • The decision has been taken to improve students ‘ stamina and concentration, and reduce their mental stress.
  • Also, a lesson on Late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be included in the school syllabus of the Karnataka state board.

 

Aibawk cluster:

  • Aibawk cluster in the Aizawl district of Mizoram has become the first cluster to be completed under the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission ( SPMRM ). It has completed all the 48 projects planned under SPMRM.
  • It is spread over an area of 522 square km across 11 villages. SPMRM was launched in 2016 with a vision to provide amenities to rural areas which are perceived to be urban.

 

Basic football training:

  • The Kerala government has decided to give basic football training to one lakh students across the State.
  • The special programme, named as “One Million Goal”, would be jointly conducted by the State Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs and the Sports Council.
  • As many as 100 children would be given basic football training at 1,000 centres for 10 days from 11th November 2022. Kerala CM: Pinarayi Vijayan.

 

International Events:

World’s longest passenger train:

  • Switzerland is now home to the world’s longest passenger train. The train has 100 coaches, measures 1910 metres and consists of 4,550 seats.
  • The train was seen passing through the mountainous landscape in the Swiss Alps. Celebrating the 175th anniversary of Switzerland’s first railway, the country’s railway operators came together to create the new Guinness.

 

World Tsunami Awareness Day: 5th November:

  • Every year on 5th November, World Tsunami Awareness Day is celebrated around the world to raise awareness about tsunamis. This day was established by the UN in 2015.
  • A tsunami is a series of huge waves created underwater by a disturbance which is referred to as earthquakes below the ocean.
  • In the past 100 years, more than 260,000 people have perished in 58 separate tsunamis.

 

Sports Events:

Virat Kohli:

  • Virat Kohli becomes 1st player to register a hat – trick in the history. At first he scored 82 not out again Pakistan, he amassed an unbeaten 62 against the Netherlands. After failing in a game with South Africa, he hits registered a crucial fifty against Bangladesh.
  • Kohli is the first player in the history of the T20 World Cup to score 3 or more fifty – plus knocks on three occasions.
